3 SMS/text followups from Pardot to increase your email response rate

Email and SMS are two powerful tools in your communications arsenal. What if you could combine these two channels to optimize and strengthen your business communication processes? You can configure SMS-Magic from Pardot to use marketing automation to send a mail and an SMS to a prospect.


Here is how to use email and SMS in tandem-

1. Contact leads who may have missed your mail- Let us say you own a hotel, Waterfall View. A lead, Tim, fills up a form with his email and mobile number details on your site to book a room. You send him an email in reply to his query, but Tim misses reading it due his busy schedule.

You can send an automated text from Pardot using SMS-Magic, to increase your chances of Tim responding to your message. 98% of texts are opened, compared to 22% of emails. This way, you are more likely to get a quick reply and fill your room inventory.

Suppose you have given dates, prices and room options in your mail. Now you cannot pack all that in the 160 characters you have in a text. So you can send a text after a couple of days, mentioning-

Hi Tim, this is Chad from Waterfall View. I’ve mailed you room options and dates, with prices. Could you please check? Thanks

2. Convert website visitors based on their behavior- Now what if using Pardot, you see there is a website visitor, Brittany, who is a corporate prospect. Although Brittany has visited your pricing page thrice in a week, she has not filled out your enquiry form yet. Brittany has downloaded a gated content piece- your brochure for corporates, filling out your form in the process. Since your form has name, email and phone fields, you have that data about her. Instead of risking your mail landing in her Promotions folder, you can simply text her-

Hi Brittany, are you interested in hosting a conference at Waterfall View? I can give you a competitive price. When can I call you to discuss this? Thanks, Chad

3. Improve responses to your marketing campaigns- Let us say you are running a marketing campaign to encourage your database to book rooms in time for the holidays. With marketing automation, you can see who has opened your mail and who has not.

You can text your message to those who have not opened your mail, in case they missed seeing it.
