How to insert/upload SMS data with Data Loader

July 04, 2014
Please inform  us on [email protected] before inserting  data back to your org to erase your credits for the duration of upgrade. This is a necessary step. If you retain credits in your account, all inserted SMSes will be sent again and credits will be deducted from your account balance.

When your installation is complete, go to the Data Loader from start menu and click on the “Insert” button.

Step 1] Salesforce Settings

You will get login page, enter the user name of your Salesforce org and the password (Password field = password of Salesforce + Security Token of salesforce org).

E.g.: The Salesforce password = abcd & Security Token of the Salesforce org = ABCDEFG; then the password field = abcdABCDEFG

Step 2] Select Data Object:

Before selecting data object, you need to make some changes in the CSV file of SMS History and Incoming SMS. Please make sure that your external field should not be empty (if it is not present in the CSV file, you need to add one column named ‘smsinteract_external_field__c’  and add a unique value of it for each record manually. Select the data object of SMS Magic package (e.g.incoming SMS) from the list of Salesforce objects. Then browse the file (select particular .csv file from folder in which you have taken back up of all objects of SMS Magic package) and click on the “Next” button.
